Not too long ago I wrote a blog about Sun's acquisition of MySQL and how that could affect users of the System i. I chatted with Eileen Burgess regarding the acquisition, and it seemed that the System i had nothing to worry about. Recently, though, I came across a new article regarding Sun's current status, and it isn't looking so good. People are speculating that Sun could soon start selling pieces of the company to stay afloat, or even go completely on the market. Given, these are just speculations at the moment . . . but if this were to happen, what then would be the effect of Sun's original acquistion of MySQL?
