Generic CL Commands

As far back as 1984 I started writing CL commands that performed the same task over multiple objects. It was my first attempt at adding generic support to certain commands that lacked it. Back then, most commands were not generic. Later, I wrote a CL command named GENSUP that performed any CL command on a generic list of objects or members. Today, IBM i includes generic commands for most functions. But some, such as a generic Change Object Owner (CHGOBJOWN) command and others, are still missing. With a little insight, you might find that there is a generic version of these commands already installed on your system.
