Help/Systems has announced the release of SEQUEL Version 9.0, a System i business-intelligence solution designed to help users who need ad hoc queries, reports, and executive dashboards. SEQUEL Version 9.0 adds gauges (speedometers, thermometers, and dials) to dashboards to help monitor critical indicators as they change. With the new Gauge Wizard, users can create professional-looking dashboards with just a few simple clicks. The product's Enhanced Scripting offers users CL-like programming structures, including loops, internal variables, conditional logic, error monitoring, and enhanced SEQUEL scripts. The scripts can automate a series of commands or create multiple-step job streams to complete complex tasks. SEQUEL 9.0 also includes a plug-in to Excel that lets users open results directly in a spreadsheet without first running a view or creating a file. In addition, SEQUEL 9 can integrate System i data with Google Maps to support interactive map plotting based on address, zip code, or latitude and longitude coordinates stored in System i database files.
