MMAIL Now Includes POP3 Tool

In "RPG POP3 Tool Available" (February 15, 2007, article ID 54054 at SystemiNetwork.com), I mentioned that the Easy400.net website featured a POP3 tool that was written in pure RPG and that you could use to automatically receive email messages in your RPG programs. Giovanni Perotti, who runs the Easy400.net website, dropped me an email last week to let me know that the POP3 tool has now been integrated into the MIME & Mail (MMAIL) tool. MMAIL has always been a great tool for sending email from your IBM i applications, but now it's also an advanced tool for receiving email and detaching the message body and attachments into files, so that they're easy to process from your applications.

MMAIL makes it easier than ever to write your own email processor in RPG. For example, if you want customers to use email to send you XML documents containing orders, you could have an RPG program that receives the XML, extracts it to a directory, and then processes it with XML-INTO to get the order data.
