New Generation Software (NGS) has added a new module, IQ Connexion, to its IBM i-based NGS-IQ business intelligence and enterprise reporting solution to let i clients extract and work with data stored in Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Postgre SQL, and IBM DB2 databases on other platforms. With the IQ Connexion component, NGS-IQ users can develop queries, reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, OLAP models, web reports, and other forms of output from data while working on the i. "More and more IBM i customers run business application software on multiple servers, operating systems, and databases. With this ability to reach out to virtually any important database in the enterprise, customers can use the IBM i and NGS-IQ as the hub for all their reporting and analysis needs," says Bernard Gough, CEO and president of NGS. The combination of NGS-IQ and IQ Connexion can also simplify cross-platform data integration and the maintenance of a DB2-based data warehouse on the i.
