Patrick Townsend & Associates [1] and Valid Technologies [2] have announced the integration of Townsend's Alliance suite of System i security products with Valid's VSSA biometric fingerprint user-authentication solution.
The integration lets Alliance users add strong, biometric-based user authentication to Townsend's suite of PGP and AES data encryption, FTP management, security-event logging, XML data translation, TCP/IP communications, credit and gift card authorization, serial-device connectivity, and EDI application-development workbench solutions. Townsend also plans to extend the integration to its other product lines as well in the near future.
In addition, Townsend announced it will also support its customers in projects to extend VSSA biometric controls to legacy applications across multiple platforms.
