ProData Computer Services [1] has announced the general availability of DBU 8.0, the newest version of its System i database utility. The update includes an integrated graphical interface with WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSc), the new Rational Developer for the System i (RDi), and an Eclipse-based IDE so that developers can work in multiple development environments. The DBU/RDB plug-in is also integrated into the graphical environment to enable access to remote databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and other non-System i data. Additional enhancements include an SQL facility, expanded data export options, display of database triggers on physical files, and file migration assistance.
