A couple months ago, IBM began bundling WebSphere Host Access Transformation Server (HATS) Limited Edition with the iSeries Access Family in V5R2. If you're unfamiliar with HATS, it dynamically transforms green-screen 5250 screens into HTML for the Web.

There are two recent Redbooks that help you use HATS in your applications:

Redpaper: Creating and Modifying HATS Projects
This Redpaper gives a general overview of the process involved in creating and modifying HATS applications, as well as some examples of some common customizations. It's organized in the same order in which you create and customize a HATS project: using the wizard to create a default project, customizing the default project, customizing the project using HATS widgets, and changing the navigation using macros.

Redbook: V5R2 Hot Topics for iSeries Browser Users: iSeries Access for Web and HATS Limited Edition
This Redbook includes topics covering the installation, configuration, and customization of HATS Limited Edition. It includes examples using various iSeries Access for Web functions, such as working with jobs, printers, and system message queues, as well as customizing the iSeries Access for Web and HATS LE Web page areas surrounding the 5250 screen area to link to other HTML-based functions.
