ProData Computer Services [2] debuts DBUnifier, a tool that helps programmers and power users create interactive applications from DB2/400 database information. The product unifies ProData's DBU database utility and the applications it creates with field prompting and record and field validation features.

DBUnifier lets users create F4-based selection lists, work with subfile processes, and create inquiry and file-maintenance applications with field-level validation. It also lets end users validate input fields against database contents or check the fields against pop-up lists of valid data.

Users can also build DBUnifier applications to view and maintain database file information by following a sequence of displays that guide them through the process of defining and saving an application. Once the application is defined, the system stores it as an object that contains all information needed to process the file as specified, and users can execute it in a green-screen environment. DBUnifier requires V4R2 or higher.
